Homeschooling: Careers without a college degree: Police
In my eclectic reading, I can across a career choice for young people involving the police academy. In this case, I am reading about the St. Louis County Police and Fire Training Center. As I understand, one can be hired by a local police department and sent through the training as a part of their employment. The costs out of pocket are limited to around $500. This might be a reasonable path to independence for some responsible young people. Homeschooling could tailor the child's education towards this path, making them more attractive on paper than someone with a more traditional high school career. A GED [1], of course, is required.
